A lawyer for the Moscow Patriarchate saw two criminal articles in the actions of Pussy Riot

March 23, 2012 head of the legal service of the Moscow Patriarchate nun Xenia (Chernega) on the radio "Radonezh" said that the punk action in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior should be regarded as a criminal offense.

In her opinion, the actions of the members of "Pussy Riot" fall under two articles. Criminal Code - 213 (hooliganism) and 282 (inciting hatred).

“Most likely, the second part of this article (282 - “Owl”) should be applied not only to the participants of this action, but also to those who edited and placed in Internet video containing the plots of this scandalous incident, "- said the interlocutor of "Radonezh".

At the same time, K. Chernega reminded that “to determine the essence of the act, qualify him for a specific article and determine the punishment only the court is authorized, and the Church, of course, cannot interfere in the judicial process and activities of law enforcement agencies”.
