Nationalists build parties

The whole of 2011 passed for the ultra-right under the sign political demarginalization - they tried to reach a new level. The political activity of nationalists in recent times, including at protest rallies, was quite noticeable, and their leaders decided on strategy and engaged in party building. Moreover, if you believe polls, the nationalist trend is now in demand in society.

On March 19, Konstantin Krylov announced the upcoming Constituent Assembly on March 24 conference of his new "Russian National Democratic Party" (RNDP; working title - "Civil Platform"). to the political council of the new organization was invited to invite Yegor Kholmogorov and Pavel Svyatenkov, to the Supervisory Board - Alexei Navalny, Vladimir Milov and Sergei Zhavoronkov (expelled from the Solidarity movement).

At the same time, the project of MGIMO professor Valery Solovyi is also developing. the creation of the New Force party, which deliberately does not attract people, somehow involved in the violence.

The relationship between these projects is still unclear. But "Russian civil Union "they divided in two: Alexander Khramov and Anton Susov joined Krylov, and Dmitry Feoktistov joined the Nightingale.

The Russian association (Alexander Belov, Dmitry Demushkin) is also trying to keep up with like-minded people and on March 19 also announced its intention to create their own political party, which they position as the most the largest nationalist party in the country. Indeed, the last for several months, the "Russians" were actively engaged in the creation of their own regional offices, which so far do not show any noticeable activity. In addition, the "Russians" are trying to a rallying point to introduce potential supporters.

So far, all this party building is taking place at the level of declarative statements. Will someone be able to create a party in the end, and even more so registering it is a very big question. Internal conflicts in the environment Russian nationalists do not stop, and the organizational abilities of leaders are lame. And the staffing problem is not going anywhere. Valery Nightingale, who tried to create his party "with new faces", honestly admits to the lack of activists inclined towards ordinary political life, rather than radical action.

Krylov's party also has few prospects for attracting the electorate. On rallies that Krylov and Thor are trying to organize on their own (without "Russians"), a few people come. It doesn't help even being there popular blogger Alexei Navalny, who, of course, is nationalist and does not hide his views, but he is not at all popular this. And they are far from ready to follow him under nationalist slogans. all his supporters.

If the parties of Krylov and Nightingale are almost identical and represent moderate direction of Russian nationalism, the movement "Russians" is much more radical. Ordinary voters will not follow them, because they are not ready to associate themselves with such radical figures.

Of course, people with nationalistic views have the right to their own party, and let them act better in a legal space. Tem moreover, they already exist legally and we see them regularly, including number in the media. But the political potential of the current nationalists is not very great.

I think that sooner or later the nationalists will be able to register any party along the lines of European ultra-right parties and the very fact the transformation of the movement from a marginal trend into a party will give them a different status.
