On March 30, 2012, it became known that after the adoption of the law on the transfer of property for religious purposes to religious organizations, the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) received about 200 applications from religious organizations for the transfer of property. 60 objects have been transferred, 20 are being prepared for transfer.
Most of the transferred objects currently belong to the Russian Orthodox Church. According to a representative of the Federal Property Management Agency, some refusals to transfer the building were due to the fact that “confessions did not fully provide documentation on the objects.”
