Orthodox Christians in Novosibirsk ask the mayor to close sex shops

On April 4, 2012, a group of Orthodox Christians addressed the mayor of Novosibirsk with a request to close sex shops. The authors of the appeal consider trade unacceptable erotic goods in a city that "claims to be a cultural and scientific center of Siberia”, and also report on the violations that accompany this trade Shops are often located closer than 500 meters from educational institutions.

The authors of the document propose to create a city commission for protection of morality, which should include officials, representatives the public, including "traditional" religious organizations, as well as "experts".
