Murmansk: the illegal detention of the organizer of the “Russian March” cost the police 41 thousand rubles

April 4, 2012 Oktyabrsky District Court of the city of Murmansk ruled on the suit of the head of the far-right organization "Pan-Slavic National Volunteer Association "Alexander Valov to the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Murmansk region and to the Internal Affairs Directorate for the city of Murmansk.

The reason for the lawsuit was that A. Valov, being the organizer "Russian March" 2011 , was detained immediately before the action on November 4 by police officers who did not introduce themselves and without explanation reasons, they took him to the department. A. Valov was kept in the police for three hours and made him a protocol on an administrative offense under Art. 20.2 Administrative Code RF (Violation of the established procedure for organizing a rally). Subsequently, the court dismissed this administrative case due to lack of composition offenses.

As a result, A. Valov appealed to the Oktyabrsky District Court of Murmansk, where he demanded compensate for the moral damage caused to him, as well as compensate material the costs of paying a representative in the conduct of a court case.

Court agreed with the arguments of A. Valov and ordered the Department of Internal Affairs to pay 20 thousand rubles in compensation moral damage, 20 thousand rubles in compensation for property damage and 1 thousand rubles of state duty.

Recall that A. Valov was previously convicted under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the fact that painted with swastikas the building of a vocational school in the city of Polyarnye Zori, Murmansk region.
