In Kostroma, the prosecutor's office demands that a leaflet against the police be banned

April 6 2012, the prosecutor's office of the Kostroma region announced that it had filed a lawsuit on the recognition of an extremist leaflet directed against employees of the Russian police.

The leaflet was found on the Internet in the public domain.

Prosecutor's office refers to the results of linguistic expertise, according to which, in the text there are "statements, aimed at inciting social hatred, propaganda of the inferiority of people on the basis of their social affiliation, obstruction of legal activities of internal affairs bodies.

The text of the leaflet, in fact, contains extremely unflattering expressions about the "anti-people's police" and a call to "cleanse" the country of such (devoid, however, of any specifics).

However, we believe that this leaflet is not should be banned as extremist material because, in our opinion, law enforcement officers should not be seen as a vulnerable social a group that is protected by anti-extremist legislation, for their protection in Russian law provides for other articles.
