On April 10, 2012, the results of the VTsIOM survey were published , dedicated to the observance of Great Lent and the celebration of Easter.
17% observed Lent in 2012, study finds respondents (13% - partially, 4% - completely). This is 4% more than in 2011. 4-5% introduce food restrictions in the last week of fasting.
68% of respondents plan to celebrate Easter, and among them there are not only Orthodox. For most, the celebration is preparing special meals. 32% of respondents plan to consecrate them (in 2011 year - 29%). Only 8% are going to go to the festive divine service.
20% of respondents think to visit a cemetery on Easter (in 2011 year - 30%), while 24% of them are Orthodox.
