70% of respondents from the Romir holding condemned the action in the KhHS

On April 12, 2012, the results of a sociological survey conducted by the Romir research holding were published. The study focuses on the attitude of Russians towards the punk rally of the Pussy Riot group that took place in Moscow.

1,500 people over 18 years old took part in the survey. Of these, 64% heard about the action in the Cathedral of Christ, 27% saw video materials of the action on the Internet.

38% of respondents were “outraged” by the actions in the KhHS, 32% were “against the action”, 6.5% did not support the action, but believed that its members “can be understood”, 0.5% of respondents supported the action.

At the same time, 44% of respondents are sure that the action was planned in advance by “organizers” who were not members of the group, 29% consider the action to be a “personal initiative of the group members,” 28% found it difficult to answer this question.

34% of respondents believe that members of the Pussy Riot group should serve their sentences in prison, 21% are ready to send them to forced labor, 24% are convinced that it is enough to fine them, 15% supported a suspended sentence, 4% of respondents believe that girls innocent.
