In early May 2012, it became known that residents of Moscow began collecting signatures under an appeal to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin with a request to cancel Decree of the Government of Moscow dated October 20, 2010 on the allocation of plots for the construction of Orthodox churches.
The authors of the appeal ask to suspend all work and public hearings on the temple building program in places where conflicts have arisen with local residents, as well as to prohibit any construction in courtyards and parks.
In addition, the appeal contains a proposal to take amendments to the existing order on the procedure for public hearings, providing for the coordination of land plots for the construction of temples with by local residents “before drawing up architectural and planning decisions and official start of the Public Hearing.
Recall that this is not the first appeal of Moscow residents to connection with conflict situations that arose during the implementation program of the construction modular temples. Sources
