Sochi: another examination showed that the ex-police bomber fell ill with schizophrenia only after his arrest

In May 2012, it became known that the fourth psychological and psychiatric examination came to conclusion that the mental illness of former police officer Ilya Galkin, defendant in the case of a series of explosions in Sochi in 2008-2009, he developed only after August 2011, i.e. at the time of the commission of the incriminated crimes he was sane.

The first two examinations recognized Galkin as sane, and the third, made at the Serbsky Institute, revealed schizophrenia in him. Last examination was made at the request of the public prosecutor.

Recall that the case against 26-year-old Ilya Galkin and 25-year-old Mikhail Denisenko, accused of killing homeless people and committing a series of explosions in Sochi since April 2008 to February 20, 2009, was transferred at the end of May 2010 in Krasnodar Regional Court. In total, as a result of the actions of I. Galkin and M. Denisenko 8 people died (previously reported 14), 18 (previously reported 20) - received injuries of varying severity, at least 100 residents of Sochi suffered property damage. The defendants admit their guilt only partially.
