The case of Sol-Iletsk supporters of Tablighi Jamaat has been brought to court

On May 23, 2012, the prosecutor's office of the Orenburg region reported that that a criminal case was sent to the court, Part 1, Art. 282.2 (organization of activities prohibited organizations) and Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation and organization of activities extremist organization) against supporters of Tablighi Jamaat - residents of Sol-Iletsk and Sol-Iletsk district of the Orenburg region. According to part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code, Farit Bikeev is accused, under part 2 of Art. 282. UK - Temirbulat Durbeltaev, Akhmetkali Bimukhanov and Kanat Krushenov.

According to investigators, the defendants spread the ideas of Tablighi Jamaat", " called for Muslims, professing traditional Islam to change their attitude to faith ”, recruited new cell members and held meetings.

As a reminder, we do not consider it lawful to ban Tablighi Jamaat" because its members do not preach violence and no evidence that they are involved in violent practices.
