On May 23, 2012, the main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) against lawyer Dagir Khasavov .
"The investigating authorities conducted their own pre-investigation check with an expert-linguistic study of Khasavov's statements, as a result of which a case was initiated," a representative of the Moscow Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee said. "The investigation had reason not to make this fact public," he added.
Recall that on April 24, 2012, in an interview with REN TV, Khasavov said that in Russia need a Sharia court. According to him, the Muslim community will set its own rules, and if it is hindered, then the consequences will be bloody.
In our opinion, Khasavov's statements are more suitable under Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities). Sources
