Red Tarzan is sane again
On May 28, 2012, the Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg announced the decision of the psychiatrists of the Institute. Serbsky on the recognition of sane Vyacheslav Datsik, nicknamed “Red Tarzan”, accused of robbery and arson of a church.
Datsik is charged with Part 2 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code (robbery) and Part 2 of Art. 167 (deliberate destruction of someone else’s property). He denies his guilt. In the second episode, Datsik is being tried together with Pavel Stepanov, who is under recognizance not to leave the place and also considers himself innocent.
The state prosecutor filed a petition to order Datsik a psychological and psychiatric examination at the Serbsky Institute as part of the trial in this case that began on March 21. The representative of the prosecutor's office motivated this by the fact that in the case there are two contradictory examinations carried out by specialists from City Hospital No. 6 of St. Petersburg. According to the results of the first, Datsik was declared insane, and according to the second - mentally healthy. Both examinations were carried out by the same doctors.
When the defendant was being transported back to Kresty, Datsik destroyed the carriage because of natives of the Caucasus smoking nearby, and he was dropped off at Volkhov. He left with the next stage from Butyrka.
Tarzan was going to bring a claim against St. Petersburg psychiatrists. At the trial, Datsik challenged the judge, prosecutor and court secretary. Tarzan unsuccessfully demanded that a criminal case be opened against the prosecutor. All challenges were rejected.
During the last meeting, the altar boy of the temple, Alexander Kozubov, was interrogated. According to Kozubov’s testimony, on August 22, 2010, the altar boy and the watchman heard a crash and ran out into the street, where they saw Datsik pouring liquid on the wall of the building. Datsik threw a match at Kozubov as he ran up and hit him in the face, causing the church minister to lose consciousness. Datsik stated that he did not set fire to the church, but he “ only filmed a video in front of the burning church and, moreover, was wearing a mask, so no one could recognize him .”
We would like to remind you that Vyacheslav Datsik, a participant in the heavyweight martial arts championships and a member of the banned organization “Slavic Union”, was arrested in St. Petersburg for serial robberies of mobile phone stores in 2007. Medical experts declared him insane , and Tarzan was sent to a special psychiatric clinic with intensive observation at Kresty, and then, at the request of doctors, he was transferred to a hospital in the village of Druzhnoselye, Gatchina district, Leningrad region. In August 2010, V. Datsik escaped from the clinic. (According to investigators, after escaping, he robbed a mobile phone store and set fire to the Church of Seraphim of Sarov in Kupchino.) He was put on the federal wanted list. At the end of September 2010, he came to the Norwegian police, handed over the pistol he had on him and asked for political asylum. In Norway, Datsik was arrested for four weeks for illegal border crossing and illegal possession of weapons. But the Norwegian authorities refused Datsik and deported him to Russia. In November 2011, Tarzan was declared fully sane. In December 2011, rumors appeared on the Internet that Datsik was stabbed to death in Kresty, but they were denied by the Federal Penitentiary Service. On March 15, 2012, a preliminary hearing was held in Datsik’s case. The judge refused to allow the defendant to have his case heard by a jury, and also extended his detention in a pre-trial detention center until the fall of 2012.
