In Naberezhnye Chelny, a verdict was passed in the case of Russophobic slogans at a rally

At the end of April 2012, the Naberezhnye Chelny City Court of the Republic Tatarstan delivered a sentence under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (initiation of a national hatred) to 60-year-old activist of the Tatar Public Center ( TOC ) Zinnur Agliullin. He was sentenced to 1 year of corrective labor with a probationary period and a deduction of 10% income for the state.

Recall that Agliullin was accused of being at a rally in the “Protection of the Russian language in the Republic of Tatarstan”, which took place in the city on April 30 last year, demonstrated anti-Russian posters and shouted Russophobic slogans. In particular, on one of the posters it was written “Suitcase, station, Russia”, and Z. Agliullin, who had assembled, called Russians living in the republic as "occupiers" and invited them to "leave for Russia".

Agliullin does not consider himself guilty and appealed the verdict. The review of his criminal case will take place on June 8 at Supreme Court of the Republic.
