A theological declaration of Muslims was adopted in Moscow, expressing the attitude of the “Islamic tradition” towards extremist groups

On May 25-26, 2012 in Moscow within the framework of the conference "Islamic doctrine against radicalism" was adopted theological declaration on issues of jihad, the application of Shariah and Caliphate.

The declaration issued clarified "the inadmissibility of violence on the part of Muslims in relation to representatives of other confessions and ideologies, as well as their own co-religionists”, “the impermissibility of radical interpretations of Islamic legal provisions relating to issues of war and peace", "the inadmissibility of encroachment on human rights and freedoms, violation of the laws of the country of residence, declaration of armed struggle against public authorities. The conference participants, among whom were Muslims from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Russia, condemned the "interpretation in extremist and mercenary political purposes" of the concepts of "takfir" (accusation of disbelief) and "caliphate" (statehood).

IN In addition to Muslims, Russian officials took part in the work of the conference. The organizers were the International Center "Al-Wasatiya" (Kuwait), Scientific and educational center "Al-Wasatiya-Temperance" (Russia) and the International Union of Islamic Scholars. Sources
