In the Murmansk region, two officers are suspected of participating in the activities of the NBP

On June 4, 2012, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced that the Military the investigative department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Severomorsky garrison initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of an extremist organization) in relation to two officers of the Northern Fleet, who are suspected of participating in activities of the banned National Bolshevik Party.

The officers are charged with the fact that since 2011 they have been taking participation in the meetings of the Murmansk branch of the "Other Russia". It is reported that during the search, leaflets were seized from the suspects, campaign posters and flags with the symbols of the NBP and several issues of banned newspaper "Limonka". In the computer of one of the officers, according to investigation, electronic versions of the Limonka newspaper were discovered, and also articles written by him, published in the newspapers "Limonka" and "Duel" .

On June 8, 2013, the trial of the case began at the Military Court of the North Sea Garrison. It turned out that one of the accused, A. Kotozhekov, was transferred to the status of a witness due to "confession of his guilt" and "sincere repentance", and, thus, only one defendant remained in the case - Naval Aviation Captain Denis Bespalov.

As a reminder, we consider the ban on the NBP and the ensuing persecution of members of this organization. In addition, I would like to draw attention to the fact that the law does not determine in any way what actions should be be considered a continuation of the activities of a banned organization, and therefore, there is no reason to regard the activities of the "Other Russia" as continuation of the activities of the NBP.
