Two Islamic religious works banned in Astrakhan

June 6, 2012 Prosecutor's Office Astrakhan region reported that the Soviet District Court of Astrakhan were recognized as extremist books by Nasir ibn Hamad Al-Ammar "The Appeal" (Publishing House "BADR") and Saleh bin Fawzan al-Fawzan "Friendship and innocence in Islam" (Saudi Arabia-Baku: Sharg-Gharb, 1996). According to the prosecutor's office, these books were seized in May 2011 during a search at the home of Alexander Avdonin, who is currently on the wanted list in connection with the organization of the Tablighi cell in Astrakhan Jamaat".

The prosecutor's office points out that according to conclusions of linguistic expertise, "the text of both books contains calls to incite hatred and enmity, as well as to humiliate dignity person or group of persons on the grounds of attitude to religion .

We have read the text of both books. They contain statements about the truth of Islam and its superiority over other religions, and also unflattering remarks about non-believers.
