Muslims of Ulyanovsk ask the president to return the historical mosque building to them and allocate land for the construction of a new building for prayer

June 5, 2012 year it became known that the Muslims of the Ulyanovsk region appealed to the President RF with an open letter. They complain to Vladimir Putin that “for many years the issues of allocation of a land plot for the construction of a cathedral mosque in Ulyanovsk, and They also ask to return to them the “illegally privatized” 19th-century mosque building.

The authors of the letter indicate that to resolve the issue of the return of the historical building a mosque to Muslims "at the regional level is not possible".
