The Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church continued the process of dividing dioceses and forming new metropolises
June 6-7 2012, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church approved a number of personnel appointments and structural changes.
From the composition of the Omsk diocese, Tara, Kalachinsk and Isilkul diocese, from composition of the Kazan diocese - Chistopol and Almetievskaya, from the composition Belgorod - Valuyskaya and Gubkinskaya, from the Ivanovo-Voznesenskaya dioceses - Shuya and Kineshma.
Omsk, Tarsk, Kalachinsk and Isilkul diocese were merged into the Omsk Metropolis, Kazan, Chistopolskaya and Almetievskaya - to the Kazan Metropolis, Belgorod, Valuyskaya and Gubkinskaya - to the Belgorod Metropolis, Ivanovo-Voznesenskaya, Shuiskaya and Kineshma - to Ivanovskaya metropolis.
