On June 21, 2012, it became known that the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan sent to the Oktyabrsky District Court of Ufa a criminal case initiated against Ufa residents Ural Yakupov and Dinar Sadykov, accused of organizing a local Hizb ut-Tahrir cell.
The criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of the activities of an extremist organization) and Part 4 of Art. 150 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (involvement of a minor in a criminal group).
According to investigators, from the beginning of 2009 to October 2011, U. Yakupov and D. Sadykov, " influencing religious feelings, personally organized and conducted classes in the study of literature, including with minors ." The defendants pleaded not guilty. A measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen against them.
