The prosecutor's office of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug demanded that content filters be installed in the museum

28 June 2012, the prosecutor's office of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra announced that the Khanty-Mansiysk inter-district prosecutor's office made a submission about elimination of violations of the legislation on countering extremism against head of the Khanty-Mansiysk Museum of Nature and Man.

occasion to submit the submission was that from the computers installed in the Internet club museum and not equipped with a content filtering system, it was possible to access sites containing extremist materials. It is reported that violations of the law were eliminated, the perpetrators were brought to disciplinary responsibility.

From our point of view, the installation of filters in Internet clubs and cafes restricts the rights of adults users, which is illegal. In addition, it is known that content filtering programs, similar to those implemented in schools, as a rule, are ineffective.
