On June 28, 2012, the Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow held preliminary hearings on the claim of the Society for the Protection of Consumer Rights (OZPP) against the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Representatives of the patriarchy expressed to the court "doubts about the authority of the representative of the OZPP to protect the interests of the plaintiff and petitioned to postpone the preliminary hearing for the appearance of a "real" representative." The court refused to satisfy the defendants' petition, but found the power of attorney of the representative of the OZPP to be inconsistent with the requirements.
Hearings on the merits are scheduled for July 10. Rospotrebnadzor of Moscow was involved as a third party. Sources
