The Federal List of Extremist Materials has been updated again

On July 10, 2012, the Federal List of Extremist materials”, paragraphs 1273-1279 were added to it. The list was supplemented by xenophobic videos from the VKontakte network, recognized as extremist by various courts of the Kursk region, and an article calling for armed jihad.

Update Federal List of Extremist Materials dated July 10, 2012:

Video material “Prohibited on TV social advertising in 2010/2”, posted on the global Internet on the website www.vkontakte.ru, on the page of a network user under the nickname "Sergey Sopov" (decision of the Zolotukhinsky District Court of the Kursk Region dated April 26, 2012);

1274. Informational material “Oh, sisters! It's your turn - the men are sleeping!", posted on Internet site www.kavkazweb.net (decision of the Dorogomilovsky district court of the city of Moscow dated 05.03.2012).

The SOVA Center managed to find on the Internet the text of the article “Oh, sisters! It's your turn - the men are sleeping! The author of the article calls on Muslim women to fight and donate money and property to those who who wages jihad, understood as an armed opposition to the West and the Christian world in general. The site kavkazweb is quite neutral and speaks extremely negatively about militants. There is no text for this article on the site. An article may have been posted on the forum and removed.

1275. Video file: "Negro Cooking Recipe", size 3.11 MB (3,270,656 bytes), total lasting 46 seconds (decision of the Leninsky District Court of the city Kursk dated April 10, 2012).

Let us recall that earlier a material with a similar title was recognized as extremist by the Kirovsky District Court of the city of Tomsk on July 21, 2009 and added to the list (p. 669).

1276. Video file: "Funny Khachenok", size 6.09 MB (6 393 856 bytes), total duration 02 minutes 13 seconds (decision of the Leninsky district court of the city of Kursk dated 10.04.2012).

1277. Video file: "Rapper", 3.58 MB in size (3,758,080 bytes), with a total duration of 45 seconds (decision of the Leninsky District Court of the city of Kursk dated April 10, 2012).

1278. Video file: The Truth About the Holocaust, 60.7 MB (63,744,000 bytes), total duration 07 minutes 02 seconds (decision of the Leninsky district court of the city of Kursk dated 10.04.2012);

1279. Video file: "Chinese hostel", 6.09 MB (6,393,856 bytes), total duration of 25 seconds (decision of the Leninsky district court of the city Kursk dated April 10, 2012).

Let us recall that earlier a material with a similar title was recognized as extremist by the Kirovsky District Court of the city of Tomsk on July 21, 2009 and added to the list (p. 669). Most likely pp. 1275, 1276, 1279 are identical to the materials from item 669 and are video clips from the "Formart 18" studio.

The SOVA Center is immediately aware of several criminal cases in Kursk for posting xenophobic videos on the VKontakte website.

- In December 2011, in Kursk, a case was brought to court under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against a 25-year-old local resident accused of publishing VKontakte racist video that causes a feeling of hostility among Russian people according to attitude towards people of the nationalities of the Caucasus and Asia, as well as people belonging to negroid race.

- In February 2012, in the city of Zheleznogorsk, Kursk region, 19-year-old M. Khozikov was convicted under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for posting on the VKontakte social network several racist videos.

- In May 2012, a criminal case was initiated in Kursk on Part 1 Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against a 23-year-old young man, who is accused of having posted on his website on November 4 and 17, 2010 page on the VKontakte social network several racist videos.
