Journalist beaten on suburban train

On July 8, 2012, in an electric train near the city of Egoryevsk, Kazan direction, a group of young people beat Dmitry Alyaev, a correspondent for the Novye Izvestia newspaper, who expressed disagreement with the slogan "Russia for the Russians!".

Young people dressed in black T-shirts with the words “GRU military intelligence” with a schematic image of a bat and black shorts made noise in the car, hurt others, beat the walls of the vestibule with their fists and shouted “Russia for the Russians!”. After the journalist tried to refute this slogan, young people attacked him. It is reported that Alyaev's face was broken and his legs were beaten off.

The victim contacted the police. It is not known whether a criminal case has been opened.
