Ivan Okhlobystin invites the patriarch to facilitate the release of Pussy Riot for the sake of preserving the flock

July 7, 2012 actor and banned from service ROC priest Ivan Okhlobystin tweeted an open letter to the patriarch.

He is convinced that the Church must "apply all available administrative options for the release of members of "Pussy Riot" from detention", since "every day of stay group members in prison, the ROC loses the support of several dozen Christians in between the ages of 16 and 60." In the same time I. Okhlobystin proposes to “close the defiled altar before the public repentance before its gates of each of the participants in the defilement.

I. Okhlobystin also believes that it is necessary "by a conciliar decision to change an erroneous point of the "Social Doctrine" for this time, prohibiting the participation of clergy in the political life of the country”, which will allow “clerics, on legal grounds, defend the interests of the Church and the Russian people."
