LDPR spoke out against “attempts to discredit the Russian Orthodox Church”

On July 13, 2012, the LDPR faction submitted to the State Duma draft statement "on anti-religious propaganda."

The text of the statement states that the "State The Duma condemns the increasing attempts by certain forces to discredit the Russian Orthodox Church".

The authors of the statement see these attempts as " a new form of anti-religious propaganda ", the purpose of which is “ to sow in society distrust of the Russian Orthodox Church as the bearer of traditional conservative and patriotic values, cause rejection of her active citizenship, oppose state and religion, to weaken the centuries-old spiritual and moral foundations of Russia .

To resist such trends, according to the authors of the text, « development of institutions civil society, modernization of the political system of the Russian Federation based on preservation of the spiritual, religious and cultural heritage of the Russian Orthodox Church and other traditional spiritual institutions of Russia ”.
