"Medialogy" summed up the results of media citations in June.
Citation is an indicator of the authority of a media outlet among other sources of information; the citation index (CI) is the number of links to a publication in publications of other media.
Some points of these tops are noteworthy, indicating the information that is in demand among the audience and the media seeking to satisfy this demand.
Kommersant traditionally leads among newspapers in terms of citations. The most noticeable move in the ranking (up 5 positions) is for Novaya Gazeta due to the conflict between the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, and the publication’s deputy editor-in-chief, Sergei Sokolov. The online resource of this publication, Novayagazeta.ru, also seriously moved up in the ranking by 12 (!) positions thanks to this scandal: it was quoted in connection with the “open letter” of editor-in-chief Dmitry Muratov regarding threats against his deputy from Alexander Bastrykin .
There are two “newcomers” in the magazine ranking. The magazine "Itogi" got to the top and immediately took 3rd place - thanks to the fact that it published an interview with State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, and the magazine "Russian Reporter" also got to the top for the first time (7th place) - this happened thanks to the interview with Deputy Minister of Education and Science Igor Remorenko.
In the rating of TV channels, Channel One took first place. The most noticeable movement in the ratings of TV channels was for Russia Today, which reported that the FBI had announced a hunt for Julian Assange’s interlocutors. "Newcomer" in the rating - RBC TV.
Among the radio stations, Ekho Moskvy traditionally took the lead. RSN is in second place. Also traditional.
Among information Internet sites in June, Lenta.ru remained the leader in the rating. The most noticeable shifts, as already noted, in the rankings of the Novaya Gazeta websites (+12), as well as the Izvestia.ru website (+11) - thanks to an interview with Alexander Bastrykin. I was especially pleased (as the author) by the rise to the top of the Publicpost.ru resource - it moved up 11 positions thanks to an interview with the head of the HermitageCapital fund, William Browder. But what made me happy was not this interview, but the fact that with its increase in the Publicpost.ru ranking it confirms its viability. The distinctive idea of the resource is simple and at the same time unique. This is an information portal and blogosphere in one bottle. Moreover, editorial materials are presented here along with blog posts of this resource. The only limitation is that in order to post on the publicpost blog, you must register under your real name and phone number; in addition, posts from publicpost bloggers are moderated, if necessary, they are edited by the site’s editors and posted on the blog, after which they end up in the feed of the site’s main page. Those. the question of whether to publish material or not is decided not from the point of view of editorial policy or the availability of free space on the page, but solely from the point of view of whether the material deserves the attention of the audience. Published by any of us, material can hang in the top of the site for at least a week if it is read, linked to and commented on (as was the case with one of my publications in April). In my understanding, this resource is an example of a free information and journalistic platform on which your material takes the place it objectively deserves. It is thanks to this system that the most interesting publications, opinions and observations are always on the surface. This is confirmed by an impartial analysis of media citations.
