Krasnodar: new article in the case of posting “anti-Russian” videos

On July 19, 2012, the investigative department for the Karasunsky district of Krasnodar of the ICR announced the initiation of a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 205. 2 of the Russian Federation (public calls for terrorist activities and public justification of terrorism) against an 18-year-old local resident.

According to investigators, in February and April 2011, the suspect posted videos on his personal page on a social network open for public access to other users. He used a fictitious name and used the computers of acquaintances and Internet cafes.

Linguistic examination found that the video files " contain statements that call for terrorist activities, as well as the recognition of the ideology and practice of terrorism as correct, in need of support and imitation ."

Earlier, a criminal case under part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting national hatred and enmity) for anti-Russian videos on the VKontakte network.
