The prosecutor's office appealed the decision to the Supreme Court of the Chuvash Republic. Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of the Chuvash Republic 25 July 2012 issued a ruling stating that the article "Show me your tongue, and I'll tell you who you are"contains" negative ratings certain social groups aimed at inciting hatred and hostility between them ", and the article is recognized as extremist material.

In the material which has become the subject of a criminal case, in an expansive journalistic manner discusses the unequal, in the opinion of the author, the position of the Chuvash compared with Russians, the persecution of the Chuvash language, celebrated in the republic, is condemned imperial policy towards the Chuvash. The article, certainly written from the standpoint Chuvash nationalism, contains incorrect statements about Russians, which can be regarded as hate speech, and opposing them to "law-abiding Chuvash", oppressed for centuries. However, in the material there are no calls for anything, and there are no statements that incite hatred.
