“It happens, but not enough,” admits 31-year-old Ekaterina Shumyakina, now a successful employee of a law firm and the mistress of a private detective agency. “Very little. I left because I don’t want to work with scum. I'm not scum. It means to support.”

We are sitting in a cafe on China-Gorod, where the Sitting Rus' organization holds its next informal meeting of members and sympathizers. The composition is standard: relatives of convicts, recently released, lawyers and journalists. But now also former law enforcement officers. Opposite Katya, is the former senior district police officer from Voronezh Roman Khabarov, the author of the sensational material "The police degraded before my eyes."

She was silent for almost two years-since she quit from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in December 2010 (as she explains, afraid to damage the case, because of which she decided to quit). "I honestly did not really trust reporters. And then I heard Olga (Romanov) on the radio, and I believed it."

First, Katya called the radio with a comment, and then wrote to the SMS program: "Contact me, I have an interesting thing for you."

Terrible tragedies and terrible witnesses

In the police, 19-year-old Ekaterina Gavrilova, then the assistant to the deputy of the Moscow City Duma, came with a statement about the theft of a passport. And she liked the people and the situation in the department so much, and the operative Konstantin was so similar to her father that she immediately asked for work. Despite her youth and the complete lack of experience, she was taken - first to the pieces of paper, then on duty in the subway, then the investigator, and as a result - to the "slaughter" department of the operative specializing in serious and especially serious crimes.

“There were many cases: interesting, tragic. Mostly, of course, the tragedies are terrible. The 8-month-old child was thrown out of the window, then everyone except her grandfather burned down-just on the ninth day. Or here is the story: the woman lived with a peasant, they had a 3-year-old girl, and the man hit the girl in her stomach, she died for two days in torment from internal bleeding. They got into the prosecutor’s office, and she thought how much she would be given to her to a man, I even said my colleagues from the office: “You are a bastard, you have killed a child, and what do you think about?!”

- On your blog, you wrote about regular witnesses and full -time witnesses. Who are they?

- Each cop has its own full -time witnesses for whom they sign when necessary. And if it suddenly comes to the court - they are told that they need to be told in court.

- Have you had such ones too?

- I had a friend, always ready to act as understood, but I honestly took him with me to the scene of the incident, did not sign it for him. Especially if you need to leave at night - it was useful, you will not find people at night. I do not consider this a very terrible violation if it comes to apartment theft, for example. But if it is street robberies or article 228 (drugs), then this, of course, is very dangerous.

- Throw?

- Not that they are thrown away, but they can do so: 0.5 grams are not enough - they are added.

- For what?

“They think this way: he is still a criminal, he still has a dose with him.”

- And it happened that those who came to you are innocent?

- I had two. No, three.

One of these three is the entrepreneur Armen Baghdasaryan. It was because of his business that Katya ceased to be an opera.

The case of Baghdasaryan

In early February 2007, citizen Natalya Maksakova brought a statement to the police to her close acquaintance Armen Baghdasaryan and accused him of raping her young daughter from her first marriage. For several years, the owner of the photo studio, the 50-year-old father of two adult children, Baghdasaryan kept Maksakov and her daughter. In January, the three of them went to rest in Egypt, after which the relations of Armen and Natalia worsened, and they broke up. In his statement, Maksakova claimed that Baghdasaryan raped her daughter repeatedly, which she did not suspect, and only found out by accident when the girl talked about this to her grandmother. Violence allegedly took place at the hotel in Egypt, while the mother washed in the soul, as well as earlier in the apartment of Baghdasaryan, where he led the child after he took it from kindergarten. During the interrogation, the girl told terrible details of what “Uncle Armen” did with her (what she told, can be qualified as rape in a perverted form - I will omit the dirty details from the interrogation protocol available at my disposal), though, answering other questions, told how good he was and that she was not afraid of him at all. The strange testimony of the child, the confused testimony of her mother and, on the contrary, the consistent and consistent testimony of the suspect himself caused some doubts among the investigators. When they saw the results of the examination, doubts disappeared: according to the conclusion of doctors, the girl was virgin, and the structure of her internal organs excluded any introduction of any object there.

The case was closed by the absence of an event of a crime three times: first the investigator Kasatkin, and then - after conducting an additional audit by order of the authorities - investigator Volodin. When Vasily Kasatkin came the next bore request to return the case for the investigation and check again, he called Katya Gavrilova, who was considered a specialist in the investigation of crimes in the field of sexual freedom and sexual integrity; In simple language - in the field of rape and violent actions of a sexual nature. “When we started the verification, it became immediately clear to me that it was not he, but she,” the former opera recalls. “Over all these years, I saw many rapists and killers and I have a good job in people. And all the facts that we checked in this case only confirmed my first impression.”

The entrepreneur also said that his first wife was fighting for him - Nadezhda Belousov, who by that time happily living a second marriage and raising a young daughter. Until recently, they lived with Baghdasaryan in one apartment, where in addition to Armen, hope, her second husband and child, her sister lived. It was in this apartment, according to the victim, that acts of violence took place - although its inhabitants could not recall the case that there was no one in the apartment for a long time. None of the neighbors said about the bad word, and no one could remember that he once drove other people's children to the apartment.

On Petrovka, 38 and the accused, and the mother of the victim conducted a study on the polygraph. The results showed that Baghdasaryan answered questions truthfully, but Maksakov, on the contrary, opposed the study in every possible way, and with answers to questions about the motives for filing an application (“revenge?”, “Wanted to get married?”) High reactions were received.

There was another witness - a man who met Maksakova just at the height of the scandal with Baghdasaryan. He told the investigators that he decided to take his footing at Natalia, but stopped with her all communication after her boastful admission that she created the owner of the photo salon "such problems that he would pay expensive for it, and maybe he will also be imprisoned" and that "so she does with all the men who abandon her."

In the report in the case, the operative officer Ekaterina Gavrilova wrote: "Based on the operational work, I believe that Baghdasaryan is not involved in the incriminated criminal act ...". Investigator Kasatkin once again closed the case, and the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the South-Western Administrative District, Major General Andrei Puchkov, signed an order who "for the exemplary performance of official duties, skillful actions and high professionalism" in the investigation of the case of Baghdasaryan, who allowed the investigation to "make a legal and reasonable decision", Katya Gavrilova received a promotion and the promotion Prize of 3500 rubles.

Soon after, the newspaper Petrovka-38 dedicated her a whole strip. The article under the heading "Install the Truth" with Katya with a smiling photograph in the center looked for a long time at the house of the young opera, and the mother, who was originally against her daughter’s campaign in the police, was more proud of others.

The Baghdasaryan case went to the archive, as it seemed then, forever: neither the mother nor the grandmother of the “victim” showed any desire to appeal the decision to close the case, went to complain either to the prosecutor’s office, or the higher police authorities, or the press.

Ekaterina Gavrilova married and became Ekaterina Shumyakina, raised her daughter and continued to investigate the rape and murders, but the situation around her began to change. Sometimes people exposed by her strangely evaded responsibility. “Here's how to work, I don’t understand? You catch, you do everything, you are doing crazy work, and then you’ll just chop it-because they brought the grandmothers,” says Schumyakina. “I didn’t take it, they took others, and they still accused me that I took me from my ORCH (operational-search part) for half a year, until I came to the boss and did not say to him:“ Listen to him: “ Conduct me a polygraph, any examinations, introduce me into hypnosis, because I did not take a ruble in my life, I can’t buy or sell me. Just let me work. "

She was returned to the department. And soon a friend called and said that the Baghdasaryan case by order of the top "in connection with the anti -pedophile campaign" was returned to the investigation. This was in August 2010-in the same month, the investigation began in another "pedophile" case-Vladimir Makarov . The coincidence of time is not the only thing: in both matters there are strangely the same experts whose testimony forms the basis of the prosecution: polygraphologist Igor Nesterenko and psychologists from the center of the ozone (in the case of Makarova there was Leila Sokolova, in the case of Baghdasaryan-Anna Solovieva. Polygraphologist and clairvoyant

At first, the investigators explained to the again accused entrepreneur that this was a simple formality, and of course, they would close again. But then it turned out that the data of the polygraph conducted on Petrovka were lost somewhere, and Armen Baghdasaryan was offered to go through a lie detector again. He agreed, and came to Igor Nesterenko - a particularly practicing polygraphologist, known as a very dubious conclusion in the case of Vladimir Makarov . In the case of Baghdasaryan Nesterenko, he also made a highly dubious conclusion-at least many of his colleagues-polygraphologists considered it. On the basis of Baghdasaryan’s answers, the questions of “your investigator in the case are Olga? Svetlana? Maria?”, “Do you have a higher education?”, “Did you try to deceive the investigator in the case?”, “Have you touched the genitals?”, “Did you take the red bag from the woman near the South-West metro?” Nesterenko made conclusions that "Baghdasaryan from October 2006 to January 2007 at the address: Moscow, Nagornaya St. ... touched the fingers of his hands of the external genital organs ... introduced the fingers of his hands ... exposed to the young ... exposed ... As in the case of Makarov, the court believed Nesterenko’s testimony and considered them permissible evidence, ignoring the conclusion of the famous forensicist, the polygraph specialist Yaroslav Komissarova, who claimed that the examination of Nesterenko was carried out in violation of methodological and procedural requirements, and the conclusions were not scientifically substantiated. Ekaterina Shumyakina acted on the process as a witness of protection, and communicated more and more closely with the family of the defendant. And on April 21, 2011, Nadezhda Belousova called her and said that Armen was given 10 years of strict regime.

The verdict of Baghdasaryan easily resisted both the cassation and in the Supreme Court. The convict went to serve the deadline for the Mordovian colony, and the attention of the press switched to other high -profile cases. The Baghdasaryan case today is rarely remembered, as a rule, next to Makarov’s much more resonant affair.
