Residents of a village in the Oryol region protest against the construction of a temple

On September 26, 2012, it became known that the residents of the village Gat Oryol region oppose the construction of the temple on the site of the school.

The construction of the school was financed by Gazprom, in 1998 year refused to complete the construction work. The building stood for several years. unfinished. In September 2012, it was handed over to the municipality, which also did not find the means to complete the construction. Then it was decided transfer the building to the balance of the Oryol diocese. On the site of an abandoned school it is planned to build a temple and an Orthodox center with a boarding school, designed for children of local residents.

On September 23, the ceremony of consecrating the foundation stone took place on the spot temple construction. Simultaneously with the consecration of the stone, a picket was held, at which a group of residents of the village demanded that the construction of the temple be abandoned, but completed school construction.
