In Oryol, a student was convicted for a video on the VKontakte network.

On September 27, 2012, it became known that the Sovetsky District Court of the city of Orel passed a sentence in a criminal case against 18-year-old Pavel Grishin, a student at the Oryol Technical College. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).

The student posted in the public domain on his page on the VKontakte social network website videos with scenes of xenophobic physical violence.

The court sentenced him to 160 hours of compulsory work.

The page from the social network has been removed.
