On October 12, 2012 it became known that the State Council of Tatarstan initiated the introduction of amendments to the federal law "On Freedom of conscience and religious associations”, previously adopted at the regional level.
The deputies, in particular, propose to religious organizations independently oblige candidates for clergy to receive education in Russia, or introduce a special procedure for the recognition of diplomas obtained in foreign educational institutions.
Another amendment obliges religious organizations conclude employment contracts with their employees, which was not previously a mandatory requirement.
Recall that in Tatarstan, the adoption of these amendments caused discontent believers.
