Hegumen Sergius (Rybko) expressed regret that he could not participate in the destruction of the nightclub

On October 12, 2012, commenting on the pogrom at the Moscow nightclub 7freedays, where gay activists were holding a party, the rector of the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit at the former Lazarevskoye cemetery, Abbot Sergius (Rybko), spoke out in support of the pogromists:

“ The Holy Scripture commands that all these gay guys be stoned. Until this trash is removed from Russian soil, I fully share the views of those who are trying to cleanse our Motherland of it. If the state does not do this, the people will do it. The Orthodox faith, culture, civilization are incompatible with this filth ,” he said.

The abbot expressed regret that the priesthood does not allow him to take part in such pogroms.
