A search was conducted at the Kazan Al-Ikhlas mosque

On October 17, 2012, it became known that law enforcement officers conducted a search in the Kazan Al-Ikhlas mosque. The reason for the search was not reported. According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, “operatives checked the work of the mosque administration.”

A little later it became known that a search had also taken place in the house of the imam of this mosque, Rustem Safin, against whom a criminal case had been initiated.

Let us recall that in 2009, R. Safin was sentenced to a suspended sentence for involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir. In the summer of 2012, the leadership of the mosque was brought to administrative responsibility for participating in actions against the persecution of Muslims. On October 2, 2012, the authorities did not allow Al-Ikhlas parishioners to hold events dedicated to the celebration of Kurban Bayram on October 25.
