The court confirmed the illegality of the construction of the Mitrofanevskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg

On October 19, 2012 it became known that that the St. Petersburg City Court dismissed the appeal of the Committee for architecture and urban planning and declared illegal development of the territory Mitrofanevsky cemetery in St. Petersburg.

Fund restoration of the Mitrofanevsky memorial involves restoring the building of the Orthodox Church in the cemetery.

Recall in 2009, part of the cemetery, despite public protests , was transferred to a residential area for the implementation of the project "Izmailovo perspective". In the summer of 2011, round-the-clock prayer stands were held in the indicated territory , directed against the construction of a gas station.
