“March against hate” took place in St. Petersburg

On October 27, 2012, the "March Against Hate" took place in St. Petersburg. This was the tenth "March Against Hate" that took place in the city. The first was organized in 2004, after the murder of Nikolai Girenko.

Those who gathered carried posters and banners with the words: "March against hatred", "For your and our freedom", "Fight the capitalist, not migrants", "No to the division of workers! Down with homophobia!", "While the Nazis divide us, bourgeois and the boss rule" and others.

The organizers of the march agreed with the authorities this year were the leaders of the coalition "Democratic Petersburg" (RP "Yabloko", RDSM, the movement "Solidarity", the LGBT community, human rights and student movements and organizations).

The action was guarded by about 100 police officers who did not interfere in what was happening.

After the march, a rally took place on Sakharov Square. Ombudsman for St. Petersburg Alexander Shishlov and Ombudsman for Russia Vladimir Lukin spoke at the rally.
