Jehovah's Witness fined in Ishim

On November 1, 2012, it became known that on September 13, 2012, the magistrate of judicial district No. 1 of Ishim, Tyumen Region, brought Pavel Italkin, a member of the local community of Jehovah's Witnesses, to administrative liability under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (production and distribution of extremist materials) and sentenced to a fine of 1,000 rubles with confiscation of the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses.

On October 31, 2012, the Ishim City Court of the Tyumen Region considered the complaint against the decision of the justice of the peace and dismissed it. The decision has entered into force.

The offense was to distribute the book What Does the Bible Really Teach? and the pamphlet The Government That Will Bring Paradise.
