November 2, 2012 Main Investigation Department Investigative Committee of the TFR for Moscow reported that the investigation into the murder of Yuri Budanov has been completed and the materials of the case against Yusup Temerkhanov, charged under par. "l" part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder motivated by hatred and enmity in regarding the social group) and Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illicit arms trafficking), in will be taken to court soon.
According to the investigation, the motive for the crime was revenge: after after the military burned Temerkhanov's father alive in Chechnya in 2000, the son decided in response to kill a representative of the Russian army involved in crimes, committed during the Chechen war - and chose Budanov, convicted of the murder of a Chechen girl, whose case was widely presented at one time in the media.
Recall that, in our opinion, military personnel are not a social group protected by anti-extremist legislation. Except In addition, we repeat: we advocate the exclusion of the indefinite concept "social group" from the anti-extremist articles.
