In the Volgograd region, a verdict was passed in the case of bullying of military personnel motivated by national hatred

On November 16, 2012, the Volgograd Military Garrison Court rendered a verdict inthe case of bullying of military personnel in military unit 22220.

In the dock was Shamil Belonos, who was accused of beating his fellow soldiers and forcing them to pose for humiliating photographs that he took.

He was charged with Part 1 of Art. 335 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the statutory rules of relations between military personnel), paragraph “b”, part 2 of Art. 335 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the statutory rules of relations between military personnel in relation to two or more persons), paragraph “a”, part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred with the use of violence).

The court found Sh. Belonos guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months in prison.
