The Moscow Regional Duma proposes to ban public events on the territory of churches and places of pilgrimage

November 21, 2012 became known that the committee state power and regional security of the Moscow Regional Duma developed a number of amendments to law "On the procedure for filing notification of holding public events on the territory of the Moscow region.

The authors of the bill propose to compile a " list of places where holding public events is initially prohibited .” These include territories of temples and other religious sites, places of pilgrimage and territories adjacent to them, stations, airports, shopping centers, sidewalks, stops, hospitals and playgrounds.

At the same time, it is proposed to allow rallies in suburban Hyde parks, where up to 100 people can gather without the consent of the authorities.

The deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Alexander Naumov suggested that the appearance amendments to the law may be related to the case "Pussy Riot.
