A commission under the Presidential Council decided to create Orthodox clubs for youth

Head of the Commission for Spiritual and Patriotic Education under Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations, State Duma Deputy Viktor Vodolatsky announced that the commission is planning, together with the Russian Orthodox Church to open a network of Orthodox discussion clubs. From the side of the Church the project will be in charge of the chairman of the synodal department of religious education and catechesis in the ROC, Metropolitan Mercury.

“Now there is a tough propaganda from the West, aimed at our the youth. It is the younger generation that is most susceptible to their influence, including through the Internet and social networks. Therefore, it was decided to create project that will fight religious extremism, promote spirituality and instill respect for the church , ”said Vodolatsky.

The deputy promised that “nothing will be imposed. We will explain for example, why is there a negative information policy against the church” . Sources
