December 17, 2012 Chairman of the Spiritual Administration Muslims of the European part of Russia Ravil Gainutdin said that the Moscow authorities are still ready to allocate six plots for construction mosques. In particular, plots will be allocated in Lyublino, Yuzhny Butovo and near metro station "Shosse Entuziastov".
The Moscow government confirmed reconciliation of these plots, "although the decision is not final" : will be discussed with the residents of these areas.
On the same day, the chairman of Moskomstroyinvest, Konstantin Timofeev denied this information.
“Moskomstroyinvest officially declares that the aforementioned plots, which, according to media reports, are designated for the construction of mosques, on the working group and the Urban Planning and Land Commission of Moscow were not considered, no decisions were made on them ,” K. Timofeev said in a letter.
Recall that earlier the mayor of Moscow S. Sobyanin stated that there are enough mosques in Moscow, and they need to be built in the Moscow region.
