The temple, restored at the expense of the Moscow budget, may close because... the parish is unable to pay for housing and communal services

On December 14, 2012, it became known that the Moscow Church of Clement of the Pope was considering the possibility of closing for the winter, because... unable to pay utility bills and pay salaries to employees. The reason was the closure of a network of tents selling dairy products from the temple. The tents were removed in accordance with the order of the Moscow mayor to replace the tents with more modern shopping pavilions.

The parish bought new tents on credit, but cannot put them in the old places because it has not received the appropriate permits.

Let us remind you that the Church of Pope Clement , where the book depository of the Russian State Library was previously located, was restored at the expense of the city budget and transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church. Payments for housing and communal services must be paid by the parish. Income from milk stalls covered these expenses; without them, the parish, according to the rector, Archpriest Leonid Kalinin, was not able to pay about 450 thousand rubles for heating and lighting the church.
