The Duma of the Kaliningrad Region exempted religious organizations from property taxes

December 19, 2012 Committee of the Kaliningrad Regional Duma on the budget approved in two readings amendments to the regional law "On the tax on property of organizations", providing for the exemption religious organizations from this tax. The amendments were initiated regional government. Committee members recommended that the draft law be approved for meeting of the Duma.

On December 24, the regional Duma approved the bill. Opponents granting benefits to religious organizations turned out to be deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, supporters - the faction of "United Russia".

According to the estimates of the representative of the governor in the regional Duma, Tatyana Sharova, due to the law, the budget of the region will receive less than 1 million rubles.
