A retrial has begun in the case of the Tver RNE

On January 10, 2012, the Tver Regional Court began a repeated trial in the case against a number of members of the Tver branch of the RNE.

Keep in mind that the group has been active since 2005. Its members made a series crimes motivated by hatred (murders, robberies and robberies, desecration of Muslim and Jewish cemeteries). July 22, 2010 Tver Regional Court sentenced 13 of the 16 members of the group to terms ranging from 3.5 to 17 years. However, in 2012, by way of supervision, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation overturned sentence against seven members of this group convicted of group murder by prior arrangement. This happened after how the position of the Constitutional Court on the issue of consideration by judges of criminal cases allocated to a separate proceeding. The Constitutional Court recognized that the same judge cannot express a position on issues that may be the subject of litigation again. The case was returned to the Tver Regional Court.

" So far, the main criminal case of the entire group considered by the Tver Regional Court, the same judge received consideration of the case in respect of two more of its participants, who were in wanted. His defendants were sentenced before the decision was announced on the main issue. That is, the defendants were charged with two criminal cases. by the same judge, and the murder they committed as part of the main criminal case later became the subject of a trial proceedings again ," commented the head of the United press service of the judicial community of the Tver region. As a result, the accused Dmitry Orlov, Daniel Ustavshchikov, Sergei and Alexander Agronomov, Igor Zolotarev, Rostislav Vertoprakhov and Elizaveta Budanov were again in the dock.

On January 10, another judge of the Tver Regional Court opened a second process. Almost immediately, it was postponed until January 16: he did not appear lawyer of one of the defendants, and were also not delivered from places of deprivation freedom defendants Orlov and Ustavshchikov.
