On January 10, 2013, the Minister of Education of the Stavropol Territory, Irina Kuvaldina, said during a briefing that after the introduction of school uniforms in the region, about ten students switched to an alternative form of education. The necessary teacher consultations are organized for all these children.
“At the same time, no one is banning them from attending extracurricular activities. They are students and have the right to this,” explained I. Kuvaldina.
According to her, the regional Ministry of Education offered the Stavropol Muftiate assistance in organizing Muslim non-state schools, but the Muftiate has not yet taken the initiative to create such schools. The minister explained that we are talking about the Ministry’s financing of teaching subjects included in the state standard.
