On January 16, 2013, Kazan police demanded that parishioners of the Al-Ikhlas mosque vacate the premises they occupied (Dekabristov St., 117). About ten parishioners who resisted the police were detained. Among them are Rustem Safin and Taufik Vasiliev.
The police checked the documents of the detainees, took fingerprints, and took photographs (the photographs were entered into the database). Administrative protocols were drawn up against them under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (disobedience to a lawful demand of a police officer).
Let us recall that the Kazan administration terminated the agreement for the free use of the mosque premises with the Muslim parish “Al-Ikhlas”. The building was returned to municipal ownership. Probably the next tenant of the building will be the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan.
