The prosecutor demands that Krylov be sent to compulsory labor

January 24, 2013 at a meeting of Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow in the case of one of the leaders of the National Democratic Party Konstantin Krylov, who is accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (initiation of a national hatred), the prosecutor demanded a sentence of nine months of compulsory labor for the accused.

Recall that a criminal case was initiated against Krylov on the fact of his speech at the rally "Stop feeding Caucasus" on October 22, 2011. Then Krylov spoke extremely insultingly about "Caucasians", but refrained from direct appeals. From our point view, this incident was not sufficient grounds for initiating proceedings. Formally, Krylov's actions fall under Art. 282 (humiliation on a national basis), but we consider this part of the article superfluous in the Criminal Code.

Judgment expected in case January 28, 2013.
