In the Ulyanovsk region, an investigation into the case of xenophobic materials on the VKontakte network has been completed.

On January 25, 2013, a criminal case was initiated in Ulyanovsk under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting ethnic hatred) against a 27-year-old local resident. In May 2013, the case was referred to the court for consideration on the merits.

The young man is suspected of creating an account on one of the social networks under the fictitious name of Valentin Bubenchikov from May to August 2012, on which he posted " photographs, drawings, inscriptions and other information of extremist content that humiliates representatives of non-Slavic nationalities ." It is reported that the administration of the social network blocked his account, but he continued to publish xenophobic materials on other pages.

Recall that in March 2013 in the city of Barysh, Ulyanovsk region, a sentence was passed in a similar case under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code.
